As the cotton floats.

For the friendliness of a school principal and the local glass expert,

For the satisfaction of yanking all the way to the end of the root,

For the joy of sitting at a table watching the neighbor boy enjoy a chocolate shake all the way down to the slurpy sucky of the last bit through the straw,

For farm fresh eggs that are decorated with chicken poo,

For catching up on life with my boss via a long phone call,

For original artwork,

For the buzz-buzz trophy that shows up on my VivoFit watch when I cross the 12,000 steps goal,

For the realization that this town has some very pretty flowers, intentional or happenstance,

For a random baby toy that is found under the cabinet and reminds me of our many blessings,

For blister bandages,

For the beauty of cottonwood cotton that floats across our yard like it isn’t in a hurry at all,

For a kind neighbor who brings over a dollhouse with all the things for living a doll’s life, so that little granddaughters can play and pretend to their hearts’ content,

For peonies in the window,

For air conditioning on a hot day, once again access to TV, God’s grace and forgiveness when I lost my cool with the myriad of customer service agents on what seemed like hours of phone calls, a new hair straightener thanks to a very excellent hair magician sister, and the means to replace the other large electronics that were lost in the lightning strike,

For a quiet ride in the countryside when our bones were just done at the end of a long day,

For these things at the end of my day today, I am very grateful.
