3 pounds and 4 ounces is not much, but mighty you are. The answer was to fight. The answer was to believe and not doubt. The answer was to trust. The answer was against all odds…what a gift from God.

I am grateful for a new day, full of promise and sunshine.

I am grateful for my daughter’s joy this morning. I know this is what she is thinking…

I am grateful today for my new granddaughter, Ansyr Blue. What a unique and beautiful name, and we all have something to learn from you, little girl.

But I am still in basics 101.

So, three more things…

I am grateful for gloves on a cold day.

I am grateful to be back in the office this week.

I am grateful to have spent time with family on Friday at the funeral and again last night at our house.

I just don’t feel anything. Novocain in the heart…so I will fake it til I make it. I will name them one by one and one more.

I am going back to the basics. Three things, big or little, and I cannot repeat them.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—
what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them? – Psalm 8:3-4

1. I am grateful for a quiet drive tonight, under an almost full moon that is shining plenty of moon glow here in the truck on I-70.

2.  I am grateful for heat at my feet.

3. I am grateful for genuine laughter that isn’t forced or nervous.
