My life today consisted of:
- a busy day of work
- internet outage that lasted 5+ hours which halted a day of work
- a frozen hotdog for lunch, followed by ChexMix crumbs at the bottom of a container, followed by a handful of cheese curds and two chocolate kisses
- a 2 1/2 hour video conference call on my cell phone which took up all of our data for the month since wifi was down due to an internet outage
- watching January flies in the window, as if it were my personal flyviary
- taking down the paltry Christmas decorations strung on our porch railing while waiting on the internet to save the day
- and watching the most bizarre motivational video during the video conference call that was more scary than motivating, securing my belief that I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that day
And for it all, I am very , very grateful.
Grateful that I had work to do, grateful for internet that I so depend upon, grateful for hotdogs that taste like heaven, grateful that I have a cell phone and am not completely isolated from work civilization, grateful for these stupid flies that refuse to die, grateful for paltry Christmas decorations that made it look like someone lives here, and grateful that my hope is built on nothing less than…Jesus.
